The most productive and the least water consuming irrigation method among the various agricultural irrigation systems is drip irrigation system. While the water used in this method is less than the other methods, the obtained performance is more. It is utilized in plants and trees grown in a line. If the water resource in the field of drip irrigation is well water/artesian water, generally sand filters are used as filter device. If the water resource is open canal such as stream/river/brook/dam, gravel filters, in other words, moss filters should be utilized in order to prevent any choke the drip parts as there are many floating material on the water.

If the water in open canals is taken from points close to bottom, and sand filters called as separator are used in front of moss/gravel filters, water is delivered to the drip irrigation system in a clearer and purified way. It is quite important to fertilize with the irrigation. It is significant to use qualitied sand filter/separator/gravel/moss filter for preventing chokes in drip pipes and for dripping into every points. Therefore, fertilization can reach to every points and more fertile products are obtained. 

What should be done for qualified irrigation and product performance? 

• Filter suitable for flow/weight of water should be selected. 
• Suitable pump should be selected by calculating the elevation difference of the field. 
• Sand filter/moss filter or separator should be made of qualified materials so that your filtration become long-life. All in all, sand is an abrasive material. 
• Fertilizer suitable for the product should be selected, and fertilizer tank or mixer fertilization systems should be used. Mixer fertilization systems are the most suitable preference to deliver more productive fertilizer to the products by means of dosage-adjusted pump. 
• t is considered whether adverse washing feature is available in separator/sand filters to be selected according to the dimension of the field or not.
