“Industrial waste water” means waste water caused by processing raw materials and producing products in industrial waste water purification facilities. Such waste water can be caused by processes of washing, heating, reacting, separating, carrying and quality control in industrial plants, factories, organized industrial zones.
The characteristics of industrial waste water varies from the processes, and the purification method and type is determined accordingly. While biological purification is adequate to purify the household waste water has low level of contamination value, biological purification process to be applied to waste water is not adequate for industrial waste water purification process as the contamination value of waste water is high. The purification process is realized by selecting the suitable option mentioned below according to the content of waste water in the industrial purification.
The physical purification process accepted as preliminary purification in the industrial waste water purification is to remove the solid parts, oil wastes, floating and settling particles within the water by means of mechanical equipment such as grid, mesh, sand holder and oil separator. The most efficient method used in the industrial waste water purification is chemical purification process. The contaminants, which cannot be removed from water by the other methods and are dissolved in the water, can be easily separated from water with chemical purification processes. The processes utilized in chemical purification are coagulation, neutralization and flocculation.
